Energizer Bunny

Today I feel as though I have been going, and going, and going!  My hubby is gone on a military trip for 6 days which means its just me, the twins, and my sweet puppy, Polly.  He left on Wednesday morning and isn't coming back until Tuesday night.  Dealing with the twins when you at least have 1 on 1 coverage is simple, but when they outnumber me 2 to 1, it becomes interesting!  They were invited to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese this afternoon and I was able to dress us all and leave in enough time to go get a gift, buy some sweet stuff from Target and still be EARLY for the party!

Check out my haul from the cheapy bins at Target!  Sweet metal mailbox, accordion file for the awesome bubblegum multiplication challenge, and some awesome info cards!  All for $4 :) 

They had the best time at Chuck E Cheese.  I wasn't sure if there would be anything for them to do, but they had these little rides like they used to have a grocery stores back in the day (AKA: when I was small)  This place was packed out with kids as you would expect on a Saturday, but it was also HOT!  Today in NC the temp got up to the 70's in some parts of our area!!!  That is insane for January.  So needless to say, if its that hot outside, it was sweltering inside.  And we don't have to discuss the kids running everywhere and screaming at the top of their lungs.  We stayed at the party for about 2 hrs and we had all had our fill :)

I was so excited about going home to crash and put the babies down for a nap, but then my mom called.  She wanted me to come by and bring the girls over for her to see.  We ended up staying there, going to eat (which they paid for, so I won't complain too much!) and I didn't get home till 7ish.  I then had to give the babies a bath and get them ready for bed!

I am officially EXHAUSTED! But I can't sleep!  I have all these ideas floating around in my head.  I want to make a soil unit and when I saw those 50 States cards, I began thinking about this sweet government unit I want to make.  Unless I get a 4th wind tonight, I will be crashing very soon!!

To top my awesome day off, I hit 50 followers!!!  I can't believe that 50 of you actually care what is going on in my little twin, taco eating world!!!

Oh my goodness, if this week got any better, I don't know if I could stand it!  First I got nominated for the Versatile blogger and the Liebster awards.  And my students' have been pretty good all week.  Besides the normal yaking anyway!  Then to put a cherry on my already awesome sundae of a week, I won the freakin' mack daddy prize from the awesome New Year's Day giveaway!!!!!!  When I got the comment on my blog I read it over and over again to make sure I was reading it right.  And sure enough, I was the BIG winner!!!  I get to choose 1 item from each of these blogs!

In other news, I can tell I and all my other bloggy friends have been back at work.  Ugh!  Do we really have to work, it cuts into my blog time!  The reason we blog, is because we teach, so I guess we must teach :)  I haven't been able to post my usual 1 post daily, but have been reading about all the awesome things you are doing.  Once I get time, I will post some pics of the sweet New Year's door I created thanks to all my awesome friends in blog world.  I have also decided to create a Soil unit to complement/replace the science kit we have in the next 9 weeks.  As soon as it is up, I will let ya know!  

I am lovin' my free Showtime preview and watching ALL  the Twilight movies back to back.  (what is sad, I have them all on DVD!)  All I need is free movies and my laptop and I'm good to go this weekend.

My great week continues!  My kiddos were basically good today, just a little talking, but nothing earth shattering.  And when I open up my email and I find that Tanya, over at A Class Act  had given me the Liebster Award!!!!  I was thrilled and it was like the cherry on my ice cream sundae!

1. I have adorable twin girls that were born right before Christmas last year, so my house officially looks like ToysRus blew up!
2. I have been teaching third grade for the past 7 years and LOVE it!  I can't imagine being anywhere else.
3. I love OLD things.  Like primative decor and things from the civil war era.  Give me a museum and I'll be happy for hours!
4.  I enjoy scrapbooking and my Circut!  I don't know what I did before I had it.

First Day Back, Drumroll Please!!!!!!!

Well today was my first day back from break and I was fully expecting all out craziness from the kiddos and sleepy spells from myself.  Guess what happened?!?!?!??!  None of the above!  My kids were, wait for it....PERFECT! I couldn't believe how good they were knowing that they had been without structure for so long.  I will admit that I didn't exactly show my alarm clock love this morning, but after finally getting going, the day was pretty good.

The highlight of my day was getting an email surprise form Amanda from One Extra Degree I had won her giveaway and commented on how I loved another of her units and what did that sweet darling do, but send me that one too!!!  I was giddy all day telling all my colleagues about it.   She has the most adorable and functional units.  Make sure you check her out, especially if you are looking to get into the Reading and Writing Workshop.

Monday Night = Taco Night!

So with it being the eve before my break officially ends, the one bright spot in my entire day was...
Taco, Taco, Taco Night!  I got to go to Taco Night!!!  (sung to the Village People's, 'Macho Man)

I was super excited because Amber, from Adventures of a Third Grade Teacher finally joined me at the world famous Taco Night.  (Note the caps. Its THAT important!)  We had the best time and discovered while enjoying our delicious $1 tacos, that our favorite Dollar Tree store caught fire!!!!  I was planning on hitting it up after Taco Night, but not anymore!  I really hope that the damage was not a lot, but looking at the pics, it didn't look good :(  

Well this Taco lover has got to get to bed soon.  I have been so used to a late bedtime and late rise time.  I dread the alarm clock in the morning and have no idea what condition I even left my classroom in!  I will miss reading your blogs as frequently, but please know, I WILL make time for all my bloggy friends!!!
